Clean ad, rejected anyway? Check the landing page

By Spear Systems · 2 min read ·

If the copy is clean and the ad still gets rejected, the destination page is the next suspect. Meta reviews the landing page as part of the ad: a clean ad pointing at a noncompliant page gets rejected the same as a dirty ad.

What gets the page rejected

  • Broken or degraded experience: page not fully functional, auto-download prompts, disabled back buttons, aggressive pop-ups.
  • Promise mismatch: the ad’s main claim, offer, pricing, or availability does not appear or match on the page. Meta expanded this consistency check — the landing experience must match what the ad promises.
  • Page-level policy issues: the page itself carries prohibited content or makes claims the ad merely pointed at.

The alignment pass (do this before every submission)

  1. Open the ad and the page side by side. Every specific claim in the ad must be visible and supported on the page.
  2. Confirm contact info exists and the page functions end to end on mobile.
  3. Confirm the offer specifics match exactly — price, discount, availability.
  4. Then re-check the copy for attribution issues with the rewrite guide and decide appeal or fix if it rejects again.

Treat the destination as part of creative review, not someone else’s department. Full context: hub guide.
