Google Ads account suspended: fix and appeal without burning rounds
By Spear Systems · 2 min read ·
Google’s system is the most procedural of the three platforms — and the most punishing of sloppy appeals. Rounds are limited, so spend them in order.
The fix-first order
- Read the disapproval reason (Status column → hover → Read the policy). The violation can sit in the ad, the asset, or the landing page — fix all three layers before appealing.
- If you fixed everything or believe it’s an error, appeal from the account: Status → Appeal → reason (Dispute decision vs Made changes) → select ads → Submit. Track it in Policy Manager → Appeal history.
- Batch appeals slow review. Appealing everything at once takes longer; sequence the important campaigns first.
The limits (hard rules, not folklore)
- 3 appeals per ad. Three failed appeals locks that ad until you contact support.
- 24 hours between repeat appeals on the same ads, or they’re marked duplicate. Too many unique appeals in 24h suspends processing.
- 6-month cutoff (July 2026): in-account appeals are unavailable for policy decisions older than 6 months — old violations go through support, not the button.
- Unfixed violations risk account suspension; Google warns at least 7 days prior on the policies that carry warnings.
Prevention
Most suspensions are repeat-violation accumulation, not one bad ad. Pre-launch review (what it checks) plus the claims discipline keeps the record clean. Overview: recovery hub.
